- Insurance policies documented: home, auto, life, health
- Outstanding debts and loans listed
People to designate
- Executor named in the will
- Healthcare proxy named
- Guardian named, if you have minor children
- Emergency contacts identified and reachable
Access & instructions
- Someone knows where your documents are physically kept
- A pointer list exists for digital accounts (which service, where the credential lives, not the credential itself)
- At least one other person could find everything above without guessing
Review
- Documents reflect your current situation (marriage, divorce, a new child, a move)
- A date is set to review all of this again next year
